Autumn.
Find us dancing through the fallen leaves, around and about at some of Somerset and Dorset’s local indoor markets and outdoor artisan markets, crafting cakes, shaping pastries and watching breads rise.
Coming soon… we’re gearing up to serve you some supper too!
In the meantime, to discuss celebration cake ideas, setting up a regular bread order or catering for your event, please email us /
kateskitchenbakery@gmail.com or call us / on 01963 365 870.
Let’s celebrate cake.
Dense, airy and moist, fruit or veg-filled, covered in chocolate ganache or piled high with clouds of cream. Traditional or new-fangled flavour, scrumptious and delicate or just downright decadent… however you like your cakes, we can help!
We use a lot of fruit and/or veg in our cakes and tray bakes and try to source local and in-season produce wherever possible. We use Fairtrade and single estate chocolate and cocoa and look locally for our butter and cream. Our eggs are always free range.
We can cater for most dietary requirements too.

FAQ
Read on to find out more about us!
Are you a physical bakery?
As our name suggests, Kate’s Kitchen is based out of a kitchen! That means we don’t have public premises, but as well as producing food to order for collection and local delivery we host events and bakery stalls in Somerset and Dorset. Wherever we are in person, that’s where our bakery is for the day.
In 2022-2023 we produced sweet and savoury goods for Jasmine & Bay Café in Templecombe and for The River Cale Café in Wincanton.
When are you open?
We are technically always open to enquiries and requests on weekdays (sometimes weekends) in some shape or form, unless otherwise stated.
See our events list above for the dates of our upcoming markets, fairs and other events. For all other enquiries you can email us via the links above and if we will endeavour to get back to you within 1-2 days. You can also call us on 10963 365 870 if you need to discuss a baking emergency (the best kind of emergency, surely).
What sort of items do you make and how can I order from you?
We produce artisan breads, cakes of all kinds, sweet and savoury pastries and biscuits as well as meals for events such as supper clubs –– all often inspired by European and British traditions and by recipes from Kate’s travels.
If you would like to order items from us for collection or local delivery, please send us an email or give us a call using the details listed above and below and we will be happy to send your our current spring bakery list.
How can I find out information about future events? Do you have a newsletter?
By signing up to our subscriber newsletter you can be sure you’ll be among the first to find out the latest bakery news. We only send out newsletters when we have something to say and offer subscribers-only offers from time to time. Follow this link to sign up: http://eepurl.com/hxIIQv
Do you accept cash and card payments?
Yes, we can take both cash & card at all our events. We take debit and credit card payments (physically and via apple or Google pay) using our Square card reader. American Express is also accepted. For pre-orders, whether for collection or local delivery, we usually ask for advance online payment to our bakery bank account, but cash on arrival can be requested.
Do you accept catering requests?
We have provided catering for events before, either running cafés at public events, or delivering food to public and private events, including parties and weddings. Email or call us and we will be happy to discuss what’s be possible. See above and below for our contact details.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes! We always try to include a variety of items on our menus that reflect dietary requirements and preferences, and that includes having gluten free, vegetarian, vegan / dairy free-friendly order menus. Just get in touch to find out more.
Kate has a 5 star hygiene rating for her kitchen, allergen training and Level 2 Hygiene certification.
Please note that we use many of the 14 allergens in our kitchen (as recognised by the Food Standards Agency) which means that all of our baking could come into contact with allergens through cross contamination. Feel free to get in touch to discuss any dietary concerns you may have, we’d be more than happy to chat further.
